ParaSport and Recreation PEI is offering a free Wheelchair Basketball Junior Program for youth between the ages of 7-16. The program runs every Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 pm until the end of March at Sherwood Elementary School gymnasium.
The goal of the program is to educate participants on the basic skills of wheelchair basketball through a variety of drills and activities. Janika Reddick, former Holland College Hurricane basketball player coaches the program. Wheelchair basketball is a sport for people with a physical disability, however, youth of all abilities are invited to come out! Drop-ins are also welcome.
This initiative is made possible through financial contributions from the Canadian Paralympic Committee and the Government of Canada.
