ParaSport and Recreation PEI is pleased to anounce it will be hosting the 2nd Annual ParaSport Festival on Tuesday, April 26th in celebration of Paralympic Schools Week. The festival will be happening at the Chi Wan Young Sports Centre.
The ParaSport Festival is open to any students with a disability in grades K-12. The goal of this event is to showcase the various parasports that are offered here on PEI as well as to provide teachers and educational assistants with the hands on experience with the various parasports. Parents are also invited to participate in the Festival.
A new addition this year, is an Aqua-Abilities session, which will be offered at the CARI Pool. Aqua-Abilities is a swim program offered by ParaSport and Recreation PEI for youth with physical and intellectual disabilities between the ages of 5-17.
The ParaSport Festival will also feature two-time, Paralympic Rower, Tony Theriault. Tony will share his stories with the students, staff and parents.
